ASTRO 25 VER disables FPP?

Post by acehood »

hi everyone,

i have a xts5000, i have ver 12 and the sw wont read because the radio was programmed with a newer ver. i was told that one of the newer versions will disable FPP, is this true? i have ver 16, but dont want to program the unit if it will take that function away.

any ideas to if this fpp disable rumor is true?

What radios do you own?: XTS2500, XTS5000, and MTS2000

What is the flashcode? if both Q52 and Q53 are present, than you won't lose FPP.

the flash is 560001-001307-0 firmware is R16.00.00 DSP is R16.00.01 MODEL H18QDH9PW7AN
using a genuine motorola ribless 9pin serial cable.
pc running XP SP3
i tried reading with ver 16 and it says.....

NEXGEN10 OTAP current CPS VER cant support this codeplug as it is not compatible with this release, please upgrade to the latest CPS

then when i press OK it says
ERROR reading radio 0 bytes returned.

You're safe. That unit has Q52 & Q53 both present in the feature set. You won't loose FPP. :D

are you running 16.00.01? that is the latest. if you're getting this error than something strange is going on.
