Xts3000 NAC Question
Ok I may have a stupid question but I need some help. I have a VHF XTS3000 and I wanted to add some P25 stuff to scan only on it but I don't know the NAC. So is there a CSQ NAC for the P25 world? Thanks

Re: Xts3000 NAC Question
You use 293 or F7E to do this.

Re: Xts3000 NAC Question
F7E only works on ASTRO 25 radios (XTS2500/5000 and onwards), it's not supported on the XTS3000 and ASTRO Saber.
Setting the Rx Unmute Rule to Digital CSQ should let you listen to anything on the channel regardles of NAC.

Re: Xts3000 NAC Question
Ok I tried the F7E and it took it in the RX box for NAC. I also changed the rx unmute to digital csq. two more questions for you guys.
First what should my digital modulator type be??? Does it matter I guess? Not doing any TX if that helps.
Next if I have the radio in Mixed mode will I here both. Its not on a trunking system. Today I had the radio programed to mix mode but I did not change the nac settings yet and I could hear noise that sounded almost like MDC1200 but longer. Any thoughts?
Thanks

Re: Xts3000 NAC Question
Keep your modulation type on C4FM. LSM and CQPSK are for simulcast systems. Also you don't need to input a receive NAC after you set RX Unmute Rule to Digital CSQ; in fact, F7E does nothing in the Astro Portable line.
If you're listening to Fed channels you may be hearing Legacy OTAR (over-the-air-rekeying) data, which runs on MDC1200 protocol.
