ASTRO Spectra conversion

Post by Bizkitjmd1 »

I am thinking about trying to convert my W4 Astro Spectra remote mount to a W3. What would be needed besides the new control head?

As well as the proper W3 interconnect board and cables.

Seriously; aside from the W-3 HHCH, you WILL have to have the control cable - which isn't that expensive. In fact; it's cheap. You MUST have the W-3 interconnect board - not so cheap; but not insane, either. They really are cool radios (I have 4 in various vehicles). You'll need someone to make it holy, too. Awesome for ATV's - I've had one on a John Deere Gator for over 6 years, and the HHCH has never missed a beat outdoors - West Texas, heat, rain, snow, hail; you name it. I used a motorcycle speaker and a motorcycle enclosure for the radio, and it's worked GREAT!
