Hey gang,
I have an XTS2500 800mhz. I'm trying to program in a P25 trunked system and I'm starting to get a little teed off. I have the system key, the flashcode for the radio is 5A1018-10178C-5, the HOST is R09.00.03 the DSP is R09.00.02 and it's a 4 Meg radio. When I'm in the Trunking System, it only allows me to use a Type II system, no ASTRO25 is able to be selected. I can't even select 'Astro Capable System' under the digital tab, it's greyed out. Am I not doing something, overlooking something or just need another cup of coffee....

Why don't you just go to the radio systems administrator and have him do it. saves all sorts of problems for both of you.

Re: XTS2500 Programming
Tony,
I believe I ran into the same problem with an older XTS2500 (might of been a 1500). There was a secondary setting somewhere that I had to manipulate. I also had issues with my key not loading properly at first which caused me to be unable to change those settings. I will fire up the laptop and XTS later today and try to re-create the problem and will get back to you. While Jim was overwhelmingly helpful in this discussion, I would be happy to also give some feedback.

Re: XTS2500 Programming
You have Q52 and Q53 in the radio and I believe there is a confilict with the Astro25 trunking and FPP wins as the dealer.

That's what I thought it was too. I have a VHF with the same flashcode and was able to choose either type 2 or Astro25 trunking.KS4VT wrote:You have Q52 and Q53 in the radio and I believe there is a confilict with the Astro25 trunking and FPP wins as the dealer.

Jason,
Thanks for the real help. I was thinking it was a setting too. I thought I looked everywhere, but I've been fooled before.
