I have a question regarding the humble GM1200 when programming out of band frequencies into them. I have a lower spech 1200 with the small screen and four buttons below and speaker, I think they call it a K4.
Completed modifying the software to accept my new channels which now works fine, able to read and write to the radio - no problem.
When the radio is switch to the new chanel (out of band), it starts resetting constantly until you time it right during one of the cycles and manage to change the channel back to a normal in band chanel.
My mods included shifting the band split from 403 Mhz - 470 Mhz to 423Mhz - 480 Mhz to allow PRS channels. My new chanels actually are around the 475.45 Mhz.
I have read the radio with un-modified software and checked the OOB chanels, re-sent it back to the radio, all good until the chanel is re-selected.
I have done the same test with the big brother GM1200 (full screen, keypad, no speaker) with the same results.
Completely out of ideas at the moment, can anyone suggest anything please?

I think that is the way the radio is trying to tell you it IS OUT OF LOCK.

Ok, by that do you mean the radio VCO is unstable and will not support the new frequency if so, is there a way to extend the lock range so that this does not happen?

The bandsplit is set in the codeplug. The radio is not out of lock!
You have to dump in a codeplug with the higher bandsplit (s) and retune the radio!
Look at my homepage (german language),for some modifications.
Before you do something, read and save the native codeplug with MTSX Lab (or Jedi native CP programmer).
