Centracom Gold Elite - Local ptt?

Post by WB8JNT »

Have been thru the install and service manual and can't seem to find and info on the actual changes made (to BIM or COIM) to get E&M or local PTT (to a local base). Lots of references to options (like k700) and testing but nothing on the actual jumpers or setup. Currently setup for 2-wire tone and need/want to change it to straight PTT and audio to the radio.
Anyone with any specifics?
Thanks - Mike

I used a outboard tone remote adapter.

It involves a lot of nonsense to get E&M out of the console.

You need to install a properly configured AUX II card above the BIM, an additional 25 pair cable on P1 or P3 depending on WHERE in the cage the stuff is, an additional punchblock, and then you get to hunt around for the signals once you've added RELAY KEYING to the resource in the CDM.

It's all described in the BIG binder that is the CEB manual, and the SSC may be able to offer some cheat sheets, but finding the data in the manual is a task.

Look under the AUX II module section for more information. This is the little relay card that sits in the CEB above the BIM.

The BIM itself cannot provide E&M without that AUX II card.
