XTS2500 Firmware Upgrade - Flash Update Required?

I have an XTS2500

8MEG
TUNING 1.08.01

I attempted to update the firmware to 20.50.05.
Not trying to add new features to the flash, just bring it up to date.
CPS immediately stopped, asking for flash key.

Is an iButton and payment to Motorola required to update the firmware for an XTS2500?
If so, what do I ask my dealer to order for me to accomplish this update?


I have updated the firmware in my APX7000 and didn't have this difficulty.

The astro25 series requires a refresh key from Motorola. Generally it is $75 for one but dealers may charge more.
