Replace missing pin on GP340 connector

Post by Skiller »

Hi,

Sorry if this question has been asked before, I couldn't find anything.
A friend of mine has a GP340 and his speaker mic connector is missing a pin. Is there a way to replace the missing pin easily, or it's not worth it and it's cheaper/easier to buy a new one directly?

Thanks in advance!

whether the missing pin is on the radio itself (GP340 is euro / UK HT750 ) or on the speakermic, your best bet is to replace the broken item. A quick look at an HT750 speakermic indicates that replacing the pogo pin / spring pin is going to be a nontrivial exercise, and just disassembling the connector enough to get a soldering iron to the circuit board with the pins on it is going to be a challenge.

Actually disassembling the connector is fairly straightforward, and replacing the pins on the speaker microphone connector is a simple task. Use a small flat-blade screwdriver to disassemble the connector, gently prying up the rubber insulator.

Thanks! Is there a source for these tiny pins?
