APX Voice Files
i did it once, but forgot how... Need assistance in making voice files for CPS.
I have a freeware that takes text to voice, and figured out in CPS how to convert to MVA... Anyone know the exact steps? Also can anyone recommed a good audio converting program?
Thanks,
Sean

Re: APX Voice Files
Exact steps are outlined in the CPS help - but I used the AT&T text to speech web page, then use sound recorder to convert them from 16bit to 8bit audio

The ATT Site is down unfortunately, I'll play with it again... Thanks.. -Sean

ATT site is gone. There are other alternatives posted over at communications.support.

You can always post the links here for everyone - not everyone goes over to the cs site..

While free, Audacity tends to have a higher learning curve for those not familiar with audio editing.n1gtl wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Das9WsZMAmQ
Another free online option is https://www.online-convert.com (specifically, https://audio.online-convert.com/convert-to-wav)

True. Someone recommended GoldWave to me because of batch processing. I tried that and it worked great! I already made the video before trying GoldWave.sjxts3000 wrote:While free, Audacity tends to have a higher learning curve for those not familiar with audio editing.n1gtl wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Das9WsZMAmQ
Re: APX Voice Files
Batch processing would be great. It’s understandable to go through a manual process to create the initial WAV files. It would be nice if they could be created with the proper format ready for import into CPS from the get go. The current three-step process seems cumbersome regardless of WAV formatter used.n1gtl wrote:True. Someone recommended GoldWave to me because of batch processing. I tried that and it worked great! When you do it over and over (for a living), it goes quick. The slowest part is the from text to speech site, which can take forever. I find that creating the files around 11 at night, things move along pretty quick.
The Gold Wave goes fast. The VA conversion utility goes fast. The code plug import goes fast. The longest thing is assigning the voice files to the channel in CPS.
