902 Mhz Receiver What works the Best????

Post by N6vgu »

I have a Question for the Group. What makes the best 902 Mhz receiver with the best sensitivity.

I have used a modified spectra at 902 Mhz and had .5 to .7uV at 12 DB Sinad. Thats really not impressive. I am looking for what makes the best receiver at 902 Mhz for a Repeater.

Thank You

Which band did you convert from (800 Mhz or 900 Mhz) ?
Did you change the receive filters ?

I am currently using a 900 Mhz Spectra as a receiver. The VCO was modified to get it to lock at 902 Mhz, Also the Ceramic filter was modded to allow 902 Mhz to pass.

What did you do to the filter to get 902 to pass? I know it isn't that sensitive down there, but I'd be interested in the information.

Thanks!

902 Receivers

I just checked two GTX mobiles. One was 0.15 uv the other was 0.12 uv.
But for my repeater receiver, I went with a Maxtrac. Just looks like a more robust design.
