More details, please. It's taken me a while to discover all the strange options
available in this radio, like the backlight set to half intensity, etc.

Its the alphnumeric channel name that is flashing.blinking

How many characters are your channel names? Or maybe is it alternating between a channel name and a blank zone name?

He is probably referring to the top display alternating between the Zone Name and Channel Name, my 7000 does this all the time and my 6000 does it for 3-4 times then stops.
