HMN4079 Backlight - Mic Element Area

Post by ASTROMODAT »

The green backlight on the HMN4079 keypad mike is excellent, almost too bright at night (but I like it that way). I noticed that the actual microphone element (located behind the grill) has a brightly lit green glowing circular area, right where the element is physically located (in the upper right hand corner of the mic grill). Is this just an accident/coincidence, or do you suppose M did this intentionally, so at night the user can see where to talk into the mic? I did notice that if you speak into the left versus right side of the upper grill area, there is a noticeable difference in audio levels, especially when you are in the P25 mode (XTL5000 w/ 05 CH).
