XTS1500 EEPROM Fail 01/82

I have an XTS1500 UHF 450-512 that all of a sudden went into FAIL 01/82 on display. Obviously an EEPROM error and thru my limited searches seems sometimes a fresh codeplug may recover it. Now of course I always save a fresh CP on a new radio before I program one, but this radio was programmed in 2013 and one win XP SSD failure ago. I don't see any CP avail on codeplug site and I attempted to clone it with a separate saved CP that practically is the same template. I can read/write the radio, but it won't clear the error. I attempted to zap it with higher end cps though its too old and I can't seem to bring the cps version back to where I can try the elevated cps. I'm slowly realizing this is taking a trip to the depot and a $500 budget killer...any other ideas?

Wrote a new codeplug with depot. Upgraded the firmware. Pushed new codeplug multiple times... still fail 01/82...

You can try the Spectra fix. When you find the radio gives you that error, read the radio and then make no changes. Write back to the radio.

What this generally did was to correct the check sum number and you were good to go. Not saying this will fix your problem.

You cold actually have a problem with the EEPROM in the radio. If this is the case, no matter what codeplug you put into the radio, it will still barf out the error code.
