Preamp Flash on existing APX 7500 700/VHF Radio

Got new (to me) APX 7500 remote-mount radio, without the RF Preamp enabled.
Purchased the proper flash from Motorola to enable the Preamp, flashed successfully, turned on the Preamp in CPS.
Should I have the radio run through the Aero 3920 by the local MSS to tweak the settings after the flash, or no?
Seems to be a good bit hotter on VHF receive, just wondering. I'd like to get all the juice I can out of the VHF band.
