Motorola R2001D DTMF

HI all
Im new to this forum, but saying that I have been reading lot of the post.
Very useful information guys!
I have purchased a early R2001D and it has had a new tube put in at some stage so its nice and bright.
Im lucky to have access other R2001D's to card jockey.
The later versions have the DTMF function, mine didn't. So I swapped the A14 Processor board to see what happens.
I gain all the new function with DTMF appearing too.
But When performing DTMF function there is no DTMF modulation or sound. Is there some hardware bit missing for this to work? (a link etc) May not be that simple.
My service manual is for the older R2001D and the new A14 PCB looks quite different.
Any help would be appreciated.
