Suggestion for external monitor hookup on R2600 RGB

I was wondering if anyone has had any luck using an external monitor on the 9 pin RGB connector on the R2600? I tried a GBS8200 board a while back from eBay with a VGA monitor with no luck (seemed to have sync issues with that board). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The GBS-8219 works great for me.

numerous threads on this ...you have to use the higher end GBS-8219 version .
The cheaper version will work with the HP 892X and SA's with a video out but needs an add on sync separator

I've had great success with a Sony DSC-1024HD. You can find them for well under $70 if you look around
