Can the front panel option buttons (A, B, C) on a M1225 be made to perform a task via the rear connector port, such as acting as a toggle switch for lights? Just wondering, don't fully understand the capability of the features of these radios yet.

In a word................ nope. You can toggle hi/lo power, monitor, stuff like that
