Fading waris LCD

Post by JOHN 1807 »

A friend called me today with a sudden problem with her HT1250.

She reported to me that suddenly, while in quik-call mode, the radio would seem to "reset" itself, AND she noted that although there was backlighting to both the screen and keypad, the contrast on the LCD seems to be zero. she can only view the screen at one angle, in daylight.

I told her to try and clean the battery contacts - to at least try addressing the "resetting" problem,

Any thoughts on the no-contrast LCD ???

Thanks
John

The LCD are famous for having problems, on the waris line. Currently, I have 12 HT1550's all with bad screens. I'm waiting on replacement from Motorola but they are back ordered. If you screen is fading check your ribbon flex to see if they are seated properly. The main problem with the LCD is missing lines....
