JT1000 - Fail 01/82???

Post by kfd29 »

A friend on the dept has a JT1000 that just suddenly started giving him a FAIL 01/82 message when started up. Called our local radio shop, they said the radio is no good and needs to be replaced! From a few posts I've read... it could be solved by simply rewriting the codeplug to the radio? Any input? Thanks!

It really depends...error 01/82 means 'codeplug error'...so, it could be as simple as the codeplug data became corrupted, and overwriting it with a known good copy will restore it...or it could be an actual hardware eeprom defect, in which case repair is required.

The radio does not need to be replaced, merely repaired.
