PHPBB Released another Release Candidate to PHPBB3. We will be upgrading the board to that at some point this week. My schedule is rather fluid at this point, so I am not sure what time I am going to have available. Apologize in advance, but I'm trying to keep up with an ever long growing list of stuff to get done on the forum.

Well The RC2 upgrade is most likely out the door since RC3 was released over the weekend.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I'm in the middle of a number of things right now, so I haven't had time to drop it in.

Akardam is in charge of the batblack project... I'll ask him when I see him online later.

Batblack is nice, but i think fixing the common word threshold for searching would be more valuable. Just my .02 Don't know if that will work in our case, but Search WAS a great feature of the board.

I'm hoping that the upgrade to RC3 may fix it from RC1. I am not sure, and the link you posted above is broken - so if you can provide it again - use the URL bb code, I'd like to read it.

Sorry about the link, it was originally posted by Fogster in another thread about the "search being fubar"

Right - because there's no batblack as of yet.

If you have visited the phpBB site this version is still not to GOLD release and still has bugs. Also phpBB3 what this site is using. The templates are alot more difficult to edit.

The Mods are difficult also.

I know what Alex is going through because of the board I am running and my HAT OFF TO HIM AND THE TEAM.

Thanks.

However, even with this being a RC and not gold - I've found some of the features and such that I have wanted for some time to implement, are now available to me. The hacks that I have done, I have simply found where in the functions they take place, or I manipulate the tables using views or other functions within MySQL. Thankfully, I'm pretty well versed in both PHP and SQL, so while learning the software has proven challenging, after a while, it wasn't so bad.

I'll try and keep more up to speed on the updates, and I'd love to get a batblack theme up and running - but I have to say - ProSilver has really grown on me so far. I didn't like it at first, but I have to say - I like it a lot better than the old SubSilver.

Eh, to each their own...
