MotoTrbo new firmware/new funktions

Post by maelv »

Hello all
in the post MotoTrbo repeater courtesy BEEP
http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=74489

RFguy wrote that there is a new firmware release for the mototrbo radios

are ther there any new infomation about this new releases ?
other than what RFguy have informed about?
any weblinks ?

so my question is... i have the mototrbo DP3601 (euro version of xpr6550) and would like to test the new Basic privacy feature but i know that i need to have my radios upgraded but do i also need to buy a new version of the mototrbo CPS ? the version i have i 1.0 build 58 i think ?
because i am just a private person an do not have access to MOL to get the new versions for (free)

and does any one know if this firmware release is for the europe market as well ?

Thanks Maelv

What’s New in this release?
The following features are enabled with this MOTOTRBO Release:

• Distinguishable Zone Toggle Indication
• Configurable Digital Automatic Gain Control (AGC)
• PL/Talk Group detect in Repeater (CCMPD01022832)

Mototrbo Firmware 01.03.02 Experimenting Notes

Post by Tinker'r »

Well, the new flash 1.03.02 did not activate the "PL/Talkgroup Det" on the rear (XPR4550) accessory pin during Digital mode operation (as I was originally lead to believe). I ended up having to solder within after all. Now I have full linking functionality, and currently have it linked with another system.

I heard that there is another upgrad due to appear in Jan 2009.
I heard it will be something out of this world.
It will allow you to use all of your TRBO memory.
Can't wait for it.

The next version of CPS is supposed to allow you to input any number of channels you desire, limited only by the amount of memory in the radio. Somewhere around 1000 channels, give or take. Heard it at the road show in Toronto a couple months ago.

It is out now. Radio auto upgrades on reprogram. RDAC for the repeaters, RSSI comparitor functions via the now activated Ethernet port on the Repeaters, COR on the rear pins of the mobiles/repeater digital and analog (Tone remoteable on the digital side now!!), more advanced encryption, plug and play site linking, plug and play crossband via ethernet port....a few more gems. Oh and that 1K channel thing, although who could use that I will never know.

I do not beleive that upon reprogram that those features show up. I think that you need to do a flash upgrade and re tune the front of the sunscriber unit. I reporgrammed my portable with new software and the only thing that showed up was the memory indicator. However, when I opened up a test codeplug all features were there. Any further info???

My bad, worded that wrong. Reprogram/flash. Flashing is very easy though.

Q: What are the new CPS/firmware/codeplug versions? My supplier have me 01.03.04 for the repeater - don't see any changes?

Uh, its not free, we pay for a subscription to ALL software on MOL, like everyone else, except that dealers frequently must purchase more than one subscription to cover more than one location or computer.
