XTL-2500 and Dodge Charger mute function

Post by larrybl »

I am installing a XTL-2500 remote mount radio into a new Dodge Charger. The "good time" radio has a aftermarket police equipment connector that provides a "Police Radio Mute" function. This connector requires a 1 volt "max" rms analog signal to mute the "good time" radio when a transmission is being received on the XTL. Looking at the accessory connector P2, Pin 13 "Channel Activity should provide this 1 volt signal.

Has anyone tried this? ? If so, were there any drawbacks?

Moved this in here to the Vehicle Radio Install forum, which is the proper place for it, and will probably garner the best replies.

Try the EVM-DCIM2. It allows two audio interface in the vehicle and properly mutes and transfer audio controls to your 2 way radios. It's one of 7 functions available for the Dodge Chargers, both 07 & 08's.
