What are people using not for desktop paging monitors?
Needs to be 2-tone and group call capable (long tone B).
Needs to be able to monitor the channel as well as operate in selective call mode.
Needs to have an external antenna connection.
Operates in the VHF 155 MHz area.
Issue is a few members in marginal area that need to have a fixed unit with and outside whip antenna to be able to hear dispatch clearly.
What desktop paging monitors are available now?

Depends. Brand new? Minitor V in an amplified base or a Federal Informer. On the cheap? 16-pin GM300 off eBay (and you get the bonus of having a TXer too if you want to supply a large enough power supply... otherwise, run it off a big wall wart at 2A and disable TX)RFguy wrote:What are people using not for desktop paging monitors?

The Informers are good, just be aware there is a minimum tone separation of 5% so check your tones out first.
