IIRC only the Astro Spectras are narrowband compliant...

That is true... to a point. Not all Astro Spectras are narrowband compliant. Just takes a different RF board to do it though.

Doh! I learn yet another new thing every day :) Every Astro Spectra I've encountered has been on a narrowband system anyways; we must be special here LOL.

Yeah, you're special alright... j/k

Not sure exactly when the Astro Spectras became narrowband compliant, but I think the CDM series were narrowbandable out of the box. Kenwoods OTOH have been narrowbandable for several years already.

Umm.. I think the Astro Spectra has always been narrowband capable, but the early ones wouldn't do 2.5 kHz steps, so wouldn't access every channel.

My fleet of Astro Spectras were purchased in 1994 (VSELP) and as Hartley said above, do narrow band but not the 2.5's.

I stand humbly corrected then... good to know.

Now I gotta get off my <self moderated> and update my ASpectra with my county's new channels.
