What is this file?

Does anyone hear know what an upgrade file named ASP_DVN4101S.CNV is used for? I found this file on a programming computer but have been afraid to try running it.

That's a firmware upgrade file for an Astro Spectra Plus, Host R09.00.05 DSP R09.00.02.
