legalities with turning 1ch pagers into 2ch

Post by kblazk »

Assuming i am NOT a Motorola dealer. Are there any legalities to be worried about when turning 1ch Minitor III's and IV's into 2ch ? Also should note that none of these pagers have any factory warranty left.

My take on this is that you are converting a receiver so FCC wise I'd say you are not running afoul of their rules - could be wrong about that part perhaps. If this was a transceiver then that would probably be a different story. If you are selling the pagers maybe saying that they were converted would be a nice thing to do if say the model number does not match up with a 2 channel model, etc. And you said the units were out of warranty so those issues do not come into play.
