I'm trying to mount a MOTOTRBO remote head in a car without drilling holes in the dash or center console material. Is there a "C" or "U" bracket that will allow me to secure the bracket to the car, cover it with the molding or center console cover and then mount the control head to the bracket? Sort of like a bracket extension...?

Some of these products involve removal of a piece or two of trim, attachment of a bracket using an existing screw or bolt, and re-installation of the trim piece(s). Others clip on somewhere and don't require trim removal. Once you have the mount in place, you might need an extension plate or arm to position the electronic device where you want it. You can even buy the mount made by one company and combine it with the arm from another company to get what you need.

Generally, the no-holes mounts are vehicle specific. You will need to look at the companies' websites to see what is available for your vehicle. Also, some of the mounts are metal and some are plastic. You may or may not have a choice for your particular application. If there is going to be stress on the mount, metal might be better.

There are also mounts that attach using one of the seat bolts. Generally, these give you some type of an adjustable stalk with a mounting plate on the top.
