XTS 5000 Bezel Display Label

Post by Q101ATFD »

I just got my black sticker for my XTS. What's the process for taking off the gray one and putting on the black one?

1. Small, very sharp, blade, similar to a single-edge razor blade.
2. Slide blade under old label edge and lift gently. Use fingers to pull
label off radio.
3. Position new label and press down. You may mess it up the
first time you try, which is why none of us ever works with only
one new label at hand. Position the new label by eye along either
side of the label area and gently press into place. If you've done
it right the three button holes will automatically line up properly.

After you've removed the old sticker, and before applying the new one, make sure the contact surface is prepped correctly - make sure all the old stickum (if any) is removed, and the surface is clean and dry.

goo-gone works nice and doesn't harm the surface of the radio at removing the old adhesive.

I just put the black sticker over the existing grey sticker.

That way you can always go back to original grey if ya ever wanted to.
