Maratrac clamshell speaker pins

Post by PETNRDX »

Can't seem to find the info on the speaker pinout for the clamshell head.
I have the A7 book, thot I had the clamshell book, but no joy.
Anybody remember if it is the same pinout as the Mitrek.
The radio to head cable is already plugged in, so just looking for where the speaker goes.
(this is supposed to be my bench testing accessory group, but apparently I pulled the speaker off)

Let's see, that should be J1001 on the Basic Control Head (HCN4033x, 4034x, 4037x, 4038x)......looking it up now......
OK, for reference, how 'bout:
23 EMERGENCY
24 HUB
25 HUB SW
26 HANDSET AUDIO
27 HUB REF
28 EMERGENCY REF
29 SPEAKER AUDIO HI
31 SPEAKER HI
32 SPEAKER LO

Hope that helped some.
curmudgeon.....and I like it.

This may be a bit different from the original disscussion but I have two maratrac's one 99 channel the other 16 i currently only have the clamshell head WITHOUT scan. The radio turns on fine and i can program it but when either radio recieves i get noise back through the speaker. Its a loud humming. Volume control does not control the humming. volume control does control the audio level though. What would cause this noise? I have the speaker on 31 and 32 as my speaker directs me too. Any ideas?

Pin 21 at the control head is Analog Ground. It is the control cable shield tied to pin 2 on the radio end.

This is the low side of the volume control in the head.

How old are the Maratracs? Very early ones (I'm thinking '91 or '92) had this problem, although the hum was not really loud, and there was a LSB to correct a whoops on one of the boards (was it the audio/squelch or the logic board, jeez I'm getting fuzzy these days).
Lots and lots of watts...
