Amplified Charger, Federal Informer, what else?

Post by red »

I am looking for something to replace our old setup for fire station alerting decoding tones broadcast on a VHF radio system. I have a relay setup to turn on station lights and feed the audio into a PA system.
Originally I wanted to look at the Motorola Amplified charger and use the aux connector for audio out and contact closure, but am having an issue with a delay in the relay, see http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.p ... 02&start=0
I thought about purchasing a radio such as the Motorola CDM 700 or CDM1250 but I don't need the ability to transmit.
Then I went to the Federal Signal Informer - but found that this is available in either WB or NB and it can not be software converted. For me, this means I would have to devote more money next year when our system narrows. I do not really want to consider the Informer for this reason.

Sooooo my fellow radio techs - what other products can you recommend to accomplish receive only, two tone decode with line level audio out and contact closure for relay operation?

http://www.veetronix.com/index_Alert.htm should do it. Their website links fail, so here is the manual: http://www.veetronix.com/Web%20alert%20man.pdf
"TDMA = digital and same great taste, half the bits"
